 In 1982, Syful
Islam setup an art gallery named after his son Cezanne.
But the first gallery set up by him was ‘Desh Art Gallery’
in 1973 at Gulshan along with two partners. This gallery ran for two years
and after this he started a new gallery by the name ‘Cezanne
Art Gallery’ in the U.A.E. Moitree Complex, Banani.
This gallery is privately owned and promotes the young artists of the
nation. The main function of this gallery is to sell all kinds of painting
along with framing facilities. Beside these, the gallery arranges regular
Art exhibitions every year to discover upcoming talents. The gallery has
one more branch in Dhaka Sheraton hotel.
In 1994, another gallery was set up by the artist along with a partner
named ‘Chittrokuteer’ in Gulshan Avenue, but it was closed
just after a year. The main customers of the galleries are local individuals
and foreigners. Since painting is an expensive asset, so the future plan
of the gallery owner is to start selling Prints of various sizes and subjects
