Syful Islam got married in April 21, 1977 with Shahnaj Parveen. After marriage he moved to Dhaka city from Kushtia with 500tk only in hand. His only son Cezan was born in October 18, 1979. Then by the grace of Allah, he had seen the faces of two daughters. One in 1982, one in 1987.

His family is the main source of inspiration to his Art work. His wife is the main critique of his art works. Without her continuous support, he would not have been in the place where he is now today. His wife is the pilot of his family, she brought up the children into being fine young gentleman and ladies. All the three children are graduates from BUET and now working in different organizations. Recently he has become Grandfather of his son's son 'Aiyad' and now the little angel is his main source of inspiration. He is completely a family guy and loves to stay at home at all times. .
